The SCTC Story

The very first SCTC took place at Kielder Water in 2010 as a charity fundraiser. Although a more basic camp the feedback was so brilliant that we wanted to give more people the chance to experience going on a training camp that would normally only be accessible to elite athletes.

We want to give all types of runner the chance to learn from our experiences as runners, coaches and physios whatever their level. Our camps can bring you together with like minded people who have an enthusiasm for running, no matter if its running a full marathon in sub 3 hours, or a 10km in 45 minutes. We can help you to reach any goal.

Steve Cram

Head Coach

One of the UK’s most well known sporting individuals, with a career in what was the golden age of British middle distance running. Steve has a wealth of experience and knowledge, and is now a key advisor to the British Athletics Endurance Programme as well as coach to commonwealth silver medalist Laura Weightman.

I will recommend your training camps to all my fellow runners and hope to see you guys again either at another training camp!

Steve, 2013 Sandy Balls Camp

It was great to hear not only about the elite side but also to meet inspirational people like Steve Way and Nell McAndrew who have amazing stories to tell.

David, 2013 Sandy Balls Camp

I thoroughly enjoyed the Steve Cram Training Camp experience and would definitely recommend it to any keen runners. It gave me fresh training ideas and allowed me to view my weekly arduous training in a very different way, giving me an injection of motivation I needed.
